it’s so dense with curious couplets and mysterious lines
heres one of the weirdest ones i came across tonight
“A slave pampered from childhood will come to a bad end.” Proverbs 29:21
what exactly is the Bible trying to tell us with that one? that we shouldn’t be sweet to servants? crazy!
it reminds me more of something Iceberg Slim would say, not King Solomon.
it also reminded me of the new revision of Mark Twain’s Huck Finn where they thought it would be a good idea to replace the word Nigger with Slave.
which defeats the purpose.
in a way its like what happens when you try to borrow from ee cummings, it just seems like a rip off.
but fortunately kalmah gets into the heart of this song and the last thing youre thinking about is andrew w.k.
you believe that there is a light at the end of the tunnel of rock.
and its probably metal.
and ive been blessed with gainful employment lo these many years,
something i do not take for granted.
heres my desks over the years
