right after punk was fading out in LA in the mid 80s, country punk and americana sprung up.
bands like the beat farmers, the rave-ups, and lone justice embraced an america that punk rejected
which isnt to say they werent rebellious, i think lone justice’s first big hits were called east of eden and ways to be wicked
but there was definitely a return to good songwriting and musicianship
maria mckee of lone justice went off to have a successful solo career,
but one person whose solo works i also enjoyed was their bassist, marvin etzioni
you cant find the 1992 single “train of love” on youtube, but myspace has it:
the reason i bring it up is because for a while ive thought that two men should cover this song
1. mr tom waits
2. mr jack white
