it would have been an honor just to just be nominated

but on Wednesday i start at The Oscars as their new Community Manager

naturally i’d like to thank the Academy, getting an offer letter with that iconic statue on it is unreal.

i pride myself on being someone who isn’t easily shocked but mama mia.

id also like to thank Veronique de Turenne who emailed me the job description and i applied right then

life eventsVeronique and I started together on the same day at the LA Times way back when.

(I hope history remembers that Veronique of Here In Malibu

and Jesus Martinez of The Eastsider LA were the first two bloggers of the mighty LA Now)

it was very sweet of her to send me several job listings from time to time during my stretch as a man of leisure.

I can easily say I would not have this job today if it wasn’t for her, so thank you Veronique.

and finally i’d like to thank my references.

i’ve been very lucky to work with such lovely and loveable people. i hope that streak continues.

a long time ago a wise man said dont blog about work.

i’m pretty sure it will be impossible for me not to blog about work

as long as i dont blog about work.

so if this blog slowly turns into a hollywood movie thing plus tacos, thats why.

i very much look forward to working for Josh Spector, a fellow midwesterner, an LAist and busblog reader

and someone who i believe i spotted sporting pumas in his spectacular view office.

thank you for the opportunity!

i feel deeply blessed and i thank you all for your kind wishes and good vibes these last few months.

it was deeply appreciated. thank God for all of you!
